  91.     The number of voters on the PC Games charts has dropped slightly
  92.  in the last few weeks. High Schools and Universities all over the world
  93.  are just restarting after the summer break, so we expect the number of
  94.  voters to start rising again soon. The popularity of the PC Games Charts
  95.  continues to grow. During the next few weeks, the Charts will be expanding
  96.  again. Our newest endeavor will be the World Chart's "Computer Gaming
  97.  Minute", which will be featured on radio's "Computer Talk" with Dave
  98.  Mason.
  99.  
  100.     Dave Mason (a.k.a. The Most Evolved Human on Earth) will be joined
  101.  by Arthur Kerschen (a.k.a. Santiago) who will give a weekly update on the
  102.  worlds most popular games, focusing on the Commercial Top 100. If your
  103.  local talk radio station doesn't currently carry "Computer Talk", you'd
  104.  better get on the phone and tell them you want it! I'll give you updates
  105.  as the computer gaming minute gets underway.
  106.  
  107.     There have been times when one game had so many points at #1, it's
  108.  had no close competitors. This has not been the case lately. Last week
  109.  Civilization 2 by Microprose held the lead with four other games close
  110.  behind. It's been suggested that we stop printing the points given to each
  111.  game on the charts because of the complex algorithm we use to assign the
  112.  ranking. The points will likely remain for a while. It's good to know that
  113.  although Duke Nukem 3D was ranked higher on the Top 100 than Quake last
  114.  week, the margin between them was thin.
  115.  
  116.     There has been a slight uproar in my e-mail from Nethack
  117.  supporters now that the 50 week rule has come into play on the Download
  118.  Top 40. After 50 weeks on the charts, games votes are very slightly
  119.  reduced in value to ease old games from the charts. Truly popular games
  120.  like Civnet and Nethack will likely remain, but it's a little more
  121.  difficult. I welcome e-mail on the 50 week rule if you have an opinion.
